RPM Summit Meeting 253 2019

SUMMIT MEETING 253-

Young People & Old Cars: From Tinkering to Careers

with Special Guest Indy Racer Lyn St. James

With the need for talent dramatically exceeding the supply of talent, a call for action brings together varied constituents – schools, teachers, collectors, clubs, shops – to discuss the industry’s future and workforce development in automotive and motorcycle restoration & preservation. Our purpose is to develop critical next steps to find the next generation of craftsmen & artisans and to ensure that they are aware that there are viable, varied career opportunities in the Collector Vehicle Industry.
Join us as we further explore issues of shop-readiness and the experience gap between educated, entry-level workers and what shops really need – experienced workers. We’ll look at the role of tinkering and how it can lead to a successful career in this $2.1 billion industry.
