THE GREAT RACE X-CUP
2024 Scott Henderson Scholarship Application
Deadline June 1, 2024!
The Scott Henderson X-Cup Scholarship was created to assist students who have competed in the Great Race X-Cup Division, and are commencing or continuing their Automotive related advanced studies. Studies may be at any US accredited college, trade school or other higher educational institution.
The Scholarship Fund is administered by the RPM Foundation, a nationally recognized organization which is dedicated to advancing careers in vehicle restoration and qualifies as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. Scott Henderson and his daughter Mallory have competed in the X-Cup Division for five years. The Scholarship is in memory of Scott, who lost his battle with cancer in 2018. Scott, Mallory, and Jim Henderson’s home region, the Deep South Region of AACA are helping to make this Scholarship possible. RPM and The Great Race both recognize the need to encourage and develop more qualified young people in the automotive field. The purpose of the Scholarship is to assist students who are, or will be enrolling in automotive-related curricula for their continued advanced education programs. College sponsored courses taken for credit while in High School qualify.
The student recipient will have demonstrated a considerable commitment and dedication by their actions during the annual Great Race competition. This is the ultimate mix of great old cars and great competition, which engages youth in a test of precision, mechanical ability, ingenuity, endurance, and most importantly, teamwork. These young people come away with not only a hard-earned sense of accomplishment, but also a true passion for vintage cars. X-Cup participation is an excellent way for the next generation to develop the bonds with vintage vehicles and the teamwork we all know are integral to the future of the automotive culture.
